hi TapeDude
ya its under tape drive in device mgr
I found an article on line that said that with server 2003, it was recommended that the service "removable storage" is disabled so that TapeWare can manage the driver for the tape drive

I know I’m using server 2008 but I thought that it might be something like this

i went looking for this service but windows server 2008 doesn’t seem to have this or must have it named under some other service

i could be going down the wrong line here but im running out of options

any advice  would be greatly appreciated
