Coldfusion 8 and ODBC Excel File

I'm trying to add an Excel file as a datasource on a multiserver configuration of ColdFusion 8.  I've read that the way to accomplish this is by setting up a Windows ODBC and using ODBC Socket connection.  I've got the source setup in Windows ODBC Administrator, but when I add it to the CF Administrator, I get the following error:

Unable to update the ColdFusion ODBC Server.
An error occurred when performing a file operation WRITE on file C:\JRun4\servers\paymentOne\cfusion.ear\cfusion.war\WEB-INF\cfusion\db\slserver54\admin\agentcallstatsxls.inp.
The cause of this exception was: java.io.FileNotFoundException: C:\JRun4\servers\paymentOne\cfusion.ear\cfusion.war\WEB-INF\cfusion\db\slserver54\admin\agentcallstatsxls.inp (The system cannot find the path specified).

Is there a better way to connect to an Excel file as a datasource in CF8? and if not, can you see anything I'm doing wrong?
