Moving AD in VLAN and assignng privare IPS to domain pcs
Hi
I was running my lab pcs in AD envrionment (server 2003)and things were working fine. Now the network admin suggested to move AD to a VLAN and also include other pcs in to my domain.Since there is a growing number of pcs the admins want to put it on VLAN and assign private IPs to the machines. I am now really confused with the whole new setup. I can reconfigure my AD with new setup but I am wondering what would be possible consequences? Will my domain pcs talk with my AD ? I also use SCCM server to manage the pcs..will there be any issue? Thanks in advance.

I installed AD several time in my subnet ( physical one)and worked great..now the big challenge is VLAN and they want to assign private IPs 192.x.x.x....the problem is my network guys have no idea about AD and how it works..they never used windows DNS...so they are trying to secure network with all these process. I understand the pcs across the campus should be put on same subnet and VLAN is the best solution.
Anyway, good things is I will install new AD as DC for this setup and I don't need to worry about old and new VLAN.
I will configure DNS when I setup AD. I am the only one working on this project as nobody else has any idea about AD here..it is my biggest challenge.
