Web based VPN ?? Does it exist ?

I'm working on a new web based application...

I've been looking for a web based vpn solution.
Googling yielded  SSL Explorer, but apparently it's an open source that has fallen victim to private industry.

.... logon through a web page, and establish a vpn so that other programs on my computer can access the remote network.

Possible ? feasible ?

Other ideas ?

My last resort is is providing a vpn software to install client-side....but this is what i'm trying to avoid.

Why not use HTTPS instead?  I have used lots of secure connections in any number of web based applications. I have to say I have not seen VPN behind the scenes (I use VPN myself). ... Thinkpads_User

May I ask what (in general) you are doing that would need that? I would be most unhappy if I went to a website and the website owner said I had to install a VPN client to use it. 9 out of 10 VPN clients do not work with my Windows 7 Pro 64-bit machine. That is why is suggested HTTPS for ordinary business use.

Connecting a softphone over vpn... with a web based call center application.

I want a web based vpn solution to traverse firewalls for SIP protocol.... but I don't want to have to install it for all of my clients.
I was hoping for something I could embed directly within my site... even if I have to pay for it... but can't find anything like that anywhere.
You will not be able to embed it within your website but you can create an html link to start the ssl vpn client from the firewall or ssl vpn appliance.

Now depending on the number of users, this can be fairly costly. If its only 5-20 users, take a look also at the netgear line of ssl vpn devices.
