We are running Exchange 2007 and when testing SMTP via telnet I can send email from a made up external address to myself from and internal desktop.
      Mail from:abcxyz123@gmail.com
      RCPT to:myname@mydomain.com
Is successfully delivered.

Is there away to disable this?

We has 3 receive connections
      Client servername
It has Exchange users and Exchange servers selected

      Default servername
It has Anonymous users, Exchange users, Exchange servers and selected

      Legacy Exchange Servers
Relay servername (we us this to relay emails sent from internal alert
applications and is configured to accept for certain IP addresses)
It has Anonymous users and Exchange servers selected

We also have an external SPAM filter which processes all inbound and outbound emails.

Is there a way to keep Exchange from relaying these messages?

Thanks
