Software can use "local disk" only. How to let it use "network drive"  too?

p.s. We using XP, but we can purchase Win 7 if confirmed Win 7 can solve this case

OS: Windows XP Service pack 3
Software: NVR (Software from vendor to connect CCTV Server and save recording file to disk)
NAS Hardware:  PCI MZK-NAS02SG

We have one NVR installed in win XP and the vendor says it only can use "Local hard disk" as the storage. Maybe there have confuse during purchase, so that we purchased one NAS for this purpose.  And the local HDD space of computer is not enough.
