CSVDE export with accent grave and other 'weird' characters

When doing an export of our users in the GAL with csvde all goes well except for users with 'weird' characters in their names like 'dreimüller', 'rené' or 'thérèse'. Those names don't show up under the column displayname in the CSV file. Instead they are replaced with cryptic codes like X'447265696dc3bc6c6c65722c20576f75746572' or X'457469c3ab6e6e6520456c2042616964756e2d4b656e7364656c6c'.

How can we get an export were all names are correctly displayed?

Were using Windows 2003 R2 and Exchange 2003.
