Quickbooks on VMware
Hey there,
I am running Quickbooks 2010 on a virtual server and am having some issues. Users can open the file with no issues from, the probelm is when they try to switch to multi-user mode. It gives them an h202 error. Has anybody seen similar issues? thanks

I am not entirely clear.
Is QuickBooks on a client machine and the ledger on a Virtual Server? If so, I have that running at a client and it works perfectly well. Make sure the Server Manager is installed on the Virtual Server and that the ledger is on the same drive of the same machine as the Server Manager.
Or, is the QuickBooks application installed on the Virtual Server? If so, I have not done that, but I have put QuickBooks on a real server and again it works fine. Same requirement - make sure the ledger is on the same drive of the same machine as the Server Application and then further keep QuickBooks there as well.

The Quick books Database server manager and the quickbooks files are both on the virtual server.
Yes we've gone through the steps with Quicbooks Tech support. They were unable to solve the issue. That's not saying much because they never heard of a virtual server to begin with.

I should also have noted - be sure you have turned off Host Mode in QuickBooks. Multi User ON, Host Mode OFF. ... Thinkpads_User

I stated exactly what to do, you have to add the servers to the local host file on the client machine. Where does it say to do that in any of the suggestions?
Thank you. I read too quickly - Sorry. .... Thinkpads_User
