Explorer crashes when opening printing preferences
I have a kyocera network printer. This is a standalone system plugged into the network. I have a windows xp sp2 machine that is having the issue only on this printer. I uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled, and got nothing. When you select printing preferences the windows explorer restarts.
Typically this will be caused by a System DLL file which was installed by Driver Vendor. Try to update the drivers from Kyocera site.
did you get the drivers from the website or from the disk?

the disc, and cannot find an update for it. I even downloaded a driver removal tool.
what is the make and model of the printer? You may also want to add IPX/SPX Network Protocol in your network card configuration. If it is there, cool. if not, add it.
Why would you want to add the IPX/SPX protocol?
When you deleted the printer, and readded, did you DELETE the old drivers via the Server Properties?

This is the only affected printer?
Is this the only affected workstation? I've been in situations where adding the IPX/SPX protocol has resolved communication issues between network devices when TCP/IP was being more than a pain in the arse.
Just curious, since if this is not a Novell network, the other PC's shouldnt even have it installed.....
Is this printer connected via a TCPIP port/USB Port/LPT1?

in addition to coainine's instructions...after the removal, you may want to go into the registry and search for Kyrocera and delete EVERY instance of it. Then reboot and restart your installation.
