Mouse text select automatically copies - do not want!

A few weeks back i noticed that any text I selected with the mouse was automatically copied. I did nothing intentional to set this up, in fact this is new for me in Windows. How can I stop this?

I have a microsoft wireless mouse and using the mouse utility that comes with windows, not the software provided on disk.

Yes, I have turned the computer off and back on again.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

This is not a Windows feature, but can be enabled using some of the softwares that are available on net.

If this is happening only on you Firefox or Chrome browser, its probably an "Auto Copy" extension that you might have installed for the browser.

If its on complete windows, then it might be a software like DragKing.

If none of these, check if you installed some other software unknowingly. Also install a good Antispyware like SpyBot to make sure you don't have any Trojan horse sitting in your PC.
