Need to add a seek bar / scrubber to an SWF Movie using AS3

Hi,

I'm relatively new to flash and I'm trying to add a seek bar / scrub bar to an SWF movie using AS3. I've scoured the web and have found many ways to do it using AS2 but I absolutely have to use AS3.

Here's an example of what I'm trying to do, if you look in the lower left hand corner you'll see a scrubber that lets you scrub through the movie, that's what I need.

The following thread explains how to add the scrub bar shown in the link above however I'm unable to follow:

I really don't know much about flash so if you could please explain very clearly or possibly provide an FLA file that would be great! Thanks in advance.

Here is an example with a downloadable source file that implements a timeline slider using AS3: http://www.kirupa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=326562

Its basically all about capturing the drag effect using mouse events and simply playing a frame based on the drag.

sheepfactory, I'm really stuck. Can you please tell me how to change this script so that it shows the seekbar and slider on the stage rather than generate them from the .as file?
