Using DFS on a machine not joined to a domain

I currently have 2 machines that are non-domain joined.   I have files that I need to keep in sync across them but as I understand it DFS does not work for non-domain joined machines.

What alternatives are there?  The two machines our web server so whenever it is must synchronize quickly (within 1 minute) and be highly performant.

Thanks!

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.
