Hi,

I have heard first time Instant Client and a full client,

Oracle has a client server architecture,

You can install Oracle Client as well as Oracle Server ( Database Server) on the same machine or a different machine

You can Oracle 11g client with Oracle 10g server

Q1:
Full client gives you the option of installing many more items.  You can install multiple data providers at once like OLEDB, ODBC, ODP.Net, etc...  You can also install the Admin tools like exp/imp, expdp/impdp, tnsping, etc...

Instant client is the smallest possible client install you can have and is more for targeted installs.  Where you don't want the large footprint of the full client.

Q2:
As mohsajdi poitned out:  Oracle is client-server out of the box.  If you have Server installed, you get most of Client by default.

As far as I know there's no major issues with an 11g client on a machine with 10g server.  I'm wondering why you would need this?
