HP MSA1000: deleting a logical unit?

Maybe another stupid question:

Is it possible to delete logical units on a MSA1000?

I've got two logical units I'd like to delete and then recreate one new, bigger one?

Seems I don't have that option in the Array Configuration Utility?

Thanks.

Yes then can be deleted, but you have to delete them in reverse order.

So, if you have 2 LUNs, delete the 2nd LUN first and then the first.

I'm not sure what you mean ... would I do this in the Array Configuration Utility? They're not shared to any physical server anymore.

Also, if you can post a screen shot of all LUNS from the ACU highlighting the ones you want to delete.

Ok,

So I've got several Windows 2003 servers connected to different logical units on a MSA.

Now I've want to delete two smaller partitions that don't get used anymore and create a newer, bigger one from them which I then will attribute to one of the 2003 servers.

Is that enough info? Thanks!

OK - understand what you want to do now.

Here is the bad news.  With the MSA1000, you can't delete LUN 3 & LUN 4 because LUN 5 exists.  In order to delete LUN 3 and LUN 4, you will need to delete LUN 5 first - sorry.

If you follow these instructions, you will be able to delete the LUN but you must delete LUN 5 first.

Ah ok! Well, LUN5 was only a test anyway. I can delete it.

Thanks for the help :)
