Deny users from sending to distribution groups

Dear Experts,
I have an ongoing problem at the school where I work with email. The staff at school need to be able to send to distribution groups. This is all set up and working correctly. However, when the pupils at the school have access to these distribution groups, they begin to abuse the lists and send inapporpriate emails to each other and occasionally members of staff.
Is there a way I can deny the GAL to the students? Or any other advice would be greatfully received.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Set a security permissions on the distribution group and only add those who you want to use it into that group.

Just some more info, you need to select "Advanced" view in ADUC to view the security tab on the distribution groups, remove the default "Authenticated Users" and "Domain Users" and add in your custom security group, then add your users to that custom security group.
