SQL 2008 Cluster installation problems on Windows 2008 servers

We are trying to install a SQL 2008 cluster, using the installation tab in the setup app. When the install's complete on the first node, we get an error message stating that the resources could not be brought online - I've searched EE and had a look at a similar issue
http://www.experts-exchange.com/Microsoft/Development/MS-SQL-Server/SQL_Server_2008/Q_24643721.html?sfQueryTermInfo=1+2008+cluster+error+instal+sql
and someone posted a link to Microsoft as the solution, but beyond telling us something's not set up right, this doesn't appear to be very useful.
I've attached the installation log, and would appreciate it if the more experienced clusterers out there could give us some pointers in how to track down the problem. This is only the second time we've tried to create a 2008 cluster, and we're scrabbling round in the dark at the moment.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

this was fixed by the simple solution of a 4 hour phone call with Microsoft, a full uninstall with registry clearance, slipstreaming service pack 1 into the install media, and starting again from scratch.
