Public Folders not replicating data correctly

We have a mixed environment with Exchange 2003 and Exchange 2007. All the migration of mailboxes has been done to Exchange 2007. But we still have Exchange 2003 Public Folder serevers.

We have one Exchange 2007 Public Folder server where in we are trying to replicate data from a Exchange 2003 PF server.

We have noticed for some of the folders , Size and Item count is different if we compare it on both the servers data.

i.e

Say if a folder with name A with Size - 100 mb , Item count - 2000 is on exch2k3pub then
the one with name A shows with Item count -- 2020

This was just an eg: , sometimes the difference is in 100 or less.

So we thought of running Isinteg on the Exch2k3 Pub DB , but as the DB was big and after running for couple of days the server used to shutdown itself, it seems that because of Isinteg and the replication mails getting queued on the server, it is making the server crash with low system memory.

Its a 64 bit with 4 GB RAM server.

My task is to make sure that all the data is correctly replicated between the two servers before I remove replicas from the Exchange 2k3 server and How to make sure that Isinteg completes.

Hello,

No need to run isinteg. In ESM, go to the PF that isn't in sync. On the Status tab, right click each replica and select Synchronize Now. Wat a while then ensure the item count is identical for both replicas. Do this for each folder that is out of sync.

The difficult thing is find out how many are not being replicated properly. Any idea how I can do that.

On the status tab of the public folder, there is an items column. That column should be the same for all replicas.

I am still trying to find a solution for this.

I am not sure what Status tab you are referring to.

So I am trying to do this. There is one Pub03 server and Pub05 which is a 2007 server

Using System Manager , i am trying to pull list of Public Folders and compare it, but there is some difference between replicas on one server and the other.

Let me know if you guys have any suggestions

I have exported data from System Manager and also got a copy of Replicas of all the PF's using PFdev.

Made sure that the folders of the server which we planned to Decommission has a replica on the other server. And gave it some time for replication.

Pulled up copies of Public Folders in Exchane and did comparision for the folders that are on Pub02 and Pub07. Most of them were good , only some had a difference in size, that too the ones on Pub07 were > in size comparing to Pub02.

Strangely even after replicating all and nothing was seen in Public Folders , but still there were some in Public Folder Instances and were not ready to go even after a week.

I kept the DB dismounted for some days and saw that didnt had any complaints from users.

So used Adsi edit and deleted the Public Folder store and uninstalled Exchange from that server.

So closing this question now.
