Play unidentified AVI file - Missing Codec

Hi Guys,

I have an avi downloaded from a security camera system.  I've had the avi sent to me but i cant view it due to a missing codec.  The avi plays fine on the clients pc only.

I've tried VLC player and downloaded K-Lite codec pack but not luck.

How can I play this avi file?

Try using AVICodec http://www.snapfiles.com/get/avicodec.html to identify the codec.  Unfortunately, security cameras sometimes use a proprietary codec that is only available with their system software - I've seen this with Geovision cards.

Thank you for your response 'Callandor'

I used the application and this is what it told me:

H:\2000.avi

 File     :  804 MB (804 MB),  duration: 5:03:08,  type: AVI,  1 audio stream(s),  quality: 70 %
 Video :  796 MB,  367 Kbps,  120.0 fps,  640*240 (2.66:1),  IV50 = Intel Indeo R5.1,    Supported
 Audio :  8.29 MB,  237 Kbps,  14850 Hz,  1 channels,  0x1 = PCM,    Supported

No this should play fine but it doesnt?  Yet it plays on the clients PC ok?  Bloody annoying :(

I got it working.  Indeo 5 codec was missing.  Installed and working fine.  Thanks for showing me the application link. :)
