Pass-through authentication with XenApp
This is a XenApp 5 environment.
All been built recently with XenApp 5 onto windows 2008 x64 only publishing applications, no desktop publishing.
Plugins are xenapp for hosted apps, no presentation server.
I'm trying to get the clients to be logged on as they login to their machines, same windows credentials (pass-through) but this seems to work very randomly, it works for some people but not for others.
Initially I thought there was a problem with the clients installed in laptops as PCs seems to login people better but not anymore, this problem is extending to anybody.
Looking into google, this doesn't seem to be a general problem so I can't find much info.
Any help will be greatly appreciated
thanks

Still uncomfortable about installing this.
All servers are in production mode, I don't want to risk having secondary issues created by this hotfix.
No other way around this?

Not that I am aware of until HRP06 comes out.

Do you know it works?, have you test it yourself?
The issue is just happening on laptop users, PC users are fine they login their machine and citrix logs them in fine, that's why I'm not certain is a server problem.
Have you experience, or know of this issue happening the same manner?
Could it be just a bug of 2008 x64 systems?

I have seen this issue reported in various mailing lists and support forums. I am a consultant and do not perform daily management and maintenance duties on Citrix farms. I can only report what I have seen and heard.
Here is the end of one e-mail thread:
Well just in case anyone hits the same issue, I finally managed to resolve this. Apparently the fix for it is in XenApp 5 Update 44. However it doesn't seem (in my environment anyway) to play well with Update 14 or 42. New builds with Update 44 are sending the pass-through authentication fine.

I appreciate that, your response time is impressive, but I use windows 2008 x64
Also, is it safe to apply these rollout packs?

No HRP for Server 2008 at this time.

I really appreciate it

Sorry I forgot the version of XenApp your are using.
Do you not have a test farm you can use to test the #44 hotfix? You can setup a test farm with the free XenServer and not effect your production environment.

This hotfix seem to have quite a number of elements and I feel uneasy as on what problems it may cause.
I have to read through it before I take it forward.
let me get back to you on this.
