logmein asking me if I am using a proxy server

logmein asks if I am using a proxy server
I am not using a proxy server and I cant get to the next menu

using firefox and windows xp


doesnt let me install logmein as a COMPUTER

Logmein uses port 80 and 443 to communicate.

If you have configured your environment to filter these ports at your firewall, isa or other such web content inspection software/proxy, then this may be blocking the connection or taking to long to inspect the content.

LogMeIn software creates unidentified https tunnels over 443, so if you have connection polices to block these types of actions on your firewall, isa or web content inspections software, you should look at modifying this.

how can i find out if I am using port 80 and port 443 for something else

On the specific machine?

You could open a command line and run netstat -aon >C:\netstat.txt
Press enter.

Then you can goto C: and click on netstat.txt in the root of C:
This will show you a list of active ports and processes associated to those ports on the computer you ran the netstat command on.
