ESX vsphere syslog server

I would like to setup a syslog-server for our ESX-VSphere environment (20 ESX-servers).
Here I found how to activate it, but does anybody have best-practises advice on this?

=> which syslog-server to use, filter messages etc?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Do you have syslog server in the network?
Not aware of best practice but sending logs to dedicated syslog server is quite common
Easiest is to use the vSphere client, Config tab > Advance settings > Syslog
If not sure refer to the official guide
