Access Tab Control - Making a specific tab "active"

I have an access tab control that uses several tabs.  Based on variables in the system I am able to hide / unhide tabs in the control.  Based on the same variables, I would like to make a particular tab the "active" or default tab the form opens up to without hiding the other tabs.  I'm looking for something like Form_frmname.tabcontrol.tabpage.ACTIVE = True.  Of course this doesn't exist but what can I use to get the same result?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.
