File Sharing Slow Down
Hi
Im having problems every day around 6pm give or take a few minutes. Where there file sharing slows to a standstill.
I have Checked all scheudled tasks, backups and windows updates all are out the equation.
It affects one group of users on one domain. The rest of the people are in the building are fine. The group are in the same area in the building off a 8 port unmanaged switch; which i dont belive to be the problem.
Anyone have any suggestions?

How long does the event last? Have you checked the virus software aswell for definition updates at this time period?

It lasts for a couple of minutes. Av updates as an when, so it would do this intermittently throughtout the day if this was the case. Apart from that ive only just changed the AV on the server from macafe to Sophos and the problem happened under both AV's.
Thanks for your reply.

Just had it happen at a different time of day and checked one of the client machine logs. Hopefully you'll be able to tell more from here:
Error 40961
The Security System could not establish a secured connection with the server cifs/Cchmp-svr-fp01. No authentication protocol was available.
Error 40960
The Security System detected an attempted downgrade attack for server cifs/Cchmp-svr-fp01. The failure code from authentication protocol Kerberos was "There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request.
(0xc000005e)".
Error 11165
The system failed to register host (A) resource records (RRs) for network adapter
with settings:
Adapter Name : {BD72D2CD-280F-4E06-8947-7 45F3CC4CE8 B}
Host Name : username
Primary Domain Suffix : domain.local
DNS server list :
10.0.20.10, 10.0.10.20, 10.0.20.5
Sent update to server : <?>
IP Address(es) :
10.0.20.110
The reason the system could not register these RRs was because the DNS server contacted refused the update request. The reasons for this might be (a) you are not allowed to update the specified DNS domain name, or (b) because the DNS server authoritative for this name does not support the DNS dynamic update protocol.
To register the DNS host (A) resource records using the specific DNS domain name and IP addresses for this adapter, contact your DNS server or network systems administrator.
