HP LASERJET P4014 PRINTER ERROR 49.4C27

Hi,

we currently have 2 printers in our office. I installed a new HP colour network printer yesterday.

Now all of a sudden, our black and white HP Laserjet P4014  laserjet printer randomly when someone tries to print to it comes up with an error, and says to switch on and switch off on the screen.

I have printed the error log and its event is 49.4C27. The error happens randomly, and its not only user 1 when it occurs. Once they switch it on and off, it remains in the queue, but with error. Have to restart it manually before the job then prints properly.

Can my other colour printer installation affect the other b & w printer? This error never used to come before the installation.

I have already tried to disable some I/O of the printer (recommended by another site) where i have disabled  IPX/SPX ,APPLETALK,DLC/LLC.

have you tried doing a Firmware Update?
and does this only do it when you send a print job to it?

If so check the drivers that are installed for that pinter and make sure they are not the color printer drivers.

it only happens when a job is printed, as far as i know. i guess i will try a firmware update.

but isnt it a bit of a coincidence it happened once i installed the new printer?? and how comes its only sometimes the error happens?
Its possible that there is a drive mix up also besure to have the latest drivers for both printers installed on the computer.

found from msft site

To update printer drivers
1.Open Printers and Faxes.

2.On the File menu, click Server Properties, and then click the Drivers tab.

3.In the Installed printer drivers list, click the driver you want to update, and then click Replace.

4.Click Yes. The driver files are copied for all the installed environments and versions. The system might prompt you for the path to the drivers.
