Pervasive v.8 Database and Tableau?

I am a complete database newbie hoping for a bit of guidance here...

I have a client running a dental practice using Windent practice management software.  It is built on a Pervasive database and I am hoping to use Tableau to run some custom reports and publish a few dashboards for the doctors to view.  After looking at Tableau, it does not list Pervasive as a compatible db, but being a bit new to this part of the field, I wasn't sure if Pervasive was just a specific "flavor" of one of the supported db types.

Thanks for the help!

If Tableau offers an ODBC option, you could probably use that and point to a Pervasive ODBC DSN.
Pervasive is its own product and is not a "flavor" of supported db types unless "Btrieve" is offered as a choice.  Pervasive.SQL is the current version of Btrieve.

Thanks for the help - it turns out that an upcoming version of the dental software is built on Microsoft SQL, so in the interim I'll test Tableau by exporting to excel and working the data from there.

Thanks again!
