I want to reduce image file sizes of all photos in a folder in one shoot, how to do this without losing the photo quality while file size has been reduced greatly.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Without losing quality? you only option is Compression then. Any changes to it to lower the size would redue its quality

if the software can scale down the photo size for photos in one folder in one shoot, then it is okie.

Try Irfan View(http://www.irfanview.com/) its a good image viewer with some neat editing options too.
Its got a batch conversion option where you can save in different compressed formats like jpg/gif/png etc.

Picasa (http://picasa.google.com/) is also very efficient in compressing image size but still maintaining quality. Not sure if its got a batch conversion facility though.
