Make local hidden files visible in Eclipse Remote Systems

I use Remote Systems to edit remote and local files in Eclipse. For remote servers, I can set RS to make hidden files visible in the preferences. For local fileslike .htaccess this doesn't work  (on a Windows 7 PC).

How can I see and edit these files?

I was able to see files beginning with a period in eclipse's navigator view.  Window->Show View->Navigator or Window->Show View->Other->General->Navigator.  Hope this helps.

I don't know what changed, because I haven't checked any setting since your posting, but it works now and I can see hidden files in Eclipse on Windows now. Thanks.
