now i know how to create a new storage group, but how can I make the mail distribute to each mail database in each storage group?did it run automatically after I create a new group?

thanks

You will need to move mailboxes into the new storage group to free up space on your main storage group.

Remember though, if you move 10gb of data to your new storage group, the physical size of the original storage group will not shrink by 10gb unless you compelte an offline defrag of the storage group.  If you don't defrag, the storage group will use up the space you have made available before it expands the physical file again.

Once you have created the new storage group and the new mailbox database you will have to select the users you want to move to the new database.

Under Recipient Configuration > Mailbox right click on the users and select Move Mailbox and then complete the wizard selecting the new mailbox database.
