Lotus Notes 8.5 crashes

We recently upgraded to lotus notes 8.5 from 7.2 and I have a handful of users out of 100 that have issues with Lotus crashing and causing the user to have to reboot their pc to get lotus to work again.   There seems to be no common thread as to why Lotus crashes.  I have run a repair on the lotus notes on several of the users and that has not helped.   I have attached the error log Lotus created.

I am aware that McAfee can cause issues with Lotus.  We disabled the "ON delivery e-mail scanner " on all of our clients for this reason several years ago.  We have plenty of other users that are running mcafee and the lotus with out any issues.

There's not much info in the log (except that 'ntdll.wcsncpy' caused the exception).

Have you applied all available Fix Packs for 8.5?
Are you sure this is not 8.5.1?

I'm sorry it is version 8.5.1 for lotus.  and 8.5.0i enterprise for Mcafee

The only reason I asked is that we have had lots of strange little quirks since upgrading to 8.5.1.  The 8.5 release seemed more stable.

Also, all of our 8.5.1 client crashing issues were resolved by appying 8.5.1 FP1.

I will try that and let you know.    I see there is a FP1 for the server and the client did you apply both?

Yes, all our servers are at 8.5.1.

Mbonaci was right.  It is a McAffe problem.

See this article...

    http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21180665

I took another look at your log file.  I don't know why this slipped past me the first time, but the fatal line is this one...

    NCExtMgr.GetTableEntry

NCExtMgr.dll is the Lotus Notes addin for McAffe.

You can verify this on any of your problematic clients by closing Notes and editing the notes.ini file.  Remove the 'NCMenu' entry from AddInsMenus and remove 'NCExtMgr' from EXTMGR_ADDINS.  Restart the Notes client and all should be well (except you won't have anti-virus protection in Notes).

Michael, you said McAffe is not loaded, but analyze the task list in log file you sent and you'll find it.
That's why I suspected that immediately...

I will try editing the ini file like you suggest and see what happens.  Thanks so much for your feed back so far.   I will let you know what happens as soon as I make the changes and give a few days to make sure it works.

Bill-Hanson is right. We had exactly same issue when we upgraded from 65.5 to 8.5. McAfee does not like Notes client. delete any EXTMGR_ADDINS entries related to McAfee in the notes client INI file.
