asterisk channel zap error

I am getting an error repeating over and over again.

chan_zap.c: Alarm cleared on channel 3

It seems like it's pointing to a Diguim Analog card, but not sure how to troubleshoot from here.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

That is just saying the alarm cleared. You will need to find the message generated when the alarm is detected in order to have a clue what the problem is.

If you lose the phone line/ dial tone on a FXO port it will throw a red alarm,  shows in the log file as 'chan_zap: Detected alarm on channel X: Red Alarm'.

When the line is restored to the port it will show the 'Alarm Cleared' message.

If you have a phone line giving you trouble you probably will find a number of alarm and clear messages in the log.

The asterisk log file is typically /var/log/asterisk/messages but can be in a different location on some distros.

hi, is the error only on channel 3? try swapping line 3 and line 2 and see if the problem follows the port or line

other things to look at that may provide information to help you solve it
