"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Yep, you can. It is called MOD_REWRITE.

1. Need to compile Apache with mod_rewrite installed.

2. Create rewrite REGEX expressions and add them to httpd.conf or directory .htaccess files.
          RewriteEngine On
          RewriteRule /somefolder$ [R=301,L]

You can also place this in your httpd.conf and then turn on logging for you to learn how to configure these. Add this to httpd.conf for your logging:)

          RewriteEngine On
RewriteLog /some location you can write too/rewrite.log
          RewriteLogLevel 9
          RewriteMap escape int:escape

Let us know if you need help installing it. On my way home now.
