Restoring mailbox data from brick level backup

I have a backup tape from a few years back that contains brick level backups of various user mailboxes. I have a user, User1, who needs his mailbox restored from this tape. Back then, we were running Exchange 2000. We are now running a pure Exchange 2007 environment and the original server the user's mailbox was on has long gone.

I've set up a backup server (BackupExec) and cataloged the tape.

Does anyone know how I can know restore the data to a PST or even restore individial items?

Thanks in advance!

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You can not do this. As you can see in the link below, Exchange 2007 RSG does not support mounting mailboxes from previous versions. You would need to rebuild an Exchange 2000 server, then perform the restore, then migrate it over.
