What can you tell me about VMware?

I need to start using VMware to log onto a system that will be running my software. But I know nothing about it.

I'll be installing my software on a client PC with the help of those who use VMware. But I want to log in remotely from my laptop.

Where do I get the software for my laptop. What does this software do? Can it replace LogMeIn or GoToMeeting?

Is it multi-user.

Please tell me something about it.

Thanks.

Connect to the server with a web browser at it's IP address.  You can download the client from that website.

The admins of the VMware Infrastructure (assuming this is a work environment), can grant you direct access to VMware via permissions within Virtual Venter; or, they can grant you remote desktop permissions. When you're remote, you can gain access by having your IT Dept give you VPN access to your organization then you can access the VM either through the VI/vCenter Client or via Remote Desktop (RDP).
