Combobox Disabled in a .Net Datagridview

I am using a .Net data gridview in a forms application. The datagridview is bound to an object with several bindable properties. I am using standard .Net binding.

Here is the problem.

I want to add a combobox column to the gridview that is not databound but displays a list of values. At runtime, the combobox is disabled.

I removed all my code and did a simple test. Added a simple unbound column to the gridview. In the 'items' property of this column, I added three values (1,2 and 3 in separate lines). I also set the ReadOnly property of that column to False. The combobox was still disabled at runtime.

How do I enable the combo box?

All of your setting on column seems correct.I suspect the properties of DataGridView. To edit column a in gridview, grid view should enabled and enabled editing.
(i)First check  "Enabled " property of datagridview. it should be true.
(2)if it enabled, then check it is "Enabled Editing" in smart tag of also should be true.have attached screen shot this point

Hope this helps.

I tried to set enable editing = true. It accepts the value but as soon as the application runs, the enable editing checkbox is reset to unchecked. Could this be because I am binding to an object and not a datatable?
