Blackberry Enterprise Server and Symantec Enterprise Vault 8.0 Support for Exchange 2007 SP1 upgrade to SP2 with Rollup 3

Dear all,

I would like to upgrade the Exchange 2007 SP1 to SP2 with rollup 3. What should I need to prepare in order to make Exchange, Blackberry and Enterprise Vault 8.0 working after the Service Pack upgrade?

My current infrastructure is like that:
2 x Mailbox CCR Exchange 2007 SP1 with Rollup 9 in Windows 2008 SP2
2 x servers running CAL and Hub transport roll with Rollup 9 in Windows 2008 SP2
1 x Symantec Enterprise Vault 8.0 in Windows 2003 Server SP2
1 x Blackberry Enterprise Server 4.14 with 90 Blackberry Device in Windows 2003 Server Sp2

As I heard that there is lots of problem after upgrading to Exchange 2007 SP2 and I want to well prepare for my production environment.

Your help is appreciated!

Since Exchange 2007 SP2 extends the Windows AD scheme to Exchange 2010 standards, I would assume that Symantec Enterprise Vault 8.0 would not work.  I would recommend upgrading to Vault 9.0+ -- 8.0 and lower do not play nice with anything that looks like Exchange 2010.

Also Exchange 2007 SP2 can break the calendaring on that Blackberry server version 4.1.  I'd consider upgrading to the latest 5.0.

Dear vdh,

For the Symantec Enterprise Vault, noted that need to upgrade to 9.0 version.

For the Blackberry, what is the meaning of "break the calendaring"? I think there is many corp are using blackberry 4.x version and they have upgraded to SP2 without upgrade the BES to 5.0. Is it a must?

Regards,
Tommy.

I do not believe it is a must.  I would just be "aware" of the issue, and post back any resulting errors to Experts Exchange.
