i have connected my wireless router to my workstation and want to connect to my wireless network using that router with no cables.
so basicly its a UTP wifi dongle. it this possible? or does the accesspoint need to be connected to the router with UTP?

i have disabled DHCP
i have fixed the router with an IP witin the ip-range of my wireless netwerk. also set the subnet

What else do i need to do? I do need to set the WAP-key somewhere right?

using a fritz 7270 with an Netgear WPN2000

yes this is possible but you are heading for pain and less security, if your routers support wds then you can bridge them with this but many only support wep in this mode. Better use a wireless network card surely?
