VMware ESX 3.5 Serial Port

I have a physical server that I need to virtualized, however, we need to maintain a serial port connection when the server is vitualized.

Is this possible

If you have a physical Serial connection on the ESX server then definitely

After you have converted to Virtual.

Right-Click on Virtual Machine
Select Edit Settings
On Hardware Tab Select Add...
Select Serial Port
Select Use physical serial port on the host
Click on Finish
