adobe flex tree expanding and collapsing animation

How do I remove the animation transition when I open and close an element in the mx:Tree component?
I want it to be instant with no transition.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I have not tried with a Tree, but as tree inherits from List, you can use the mouseDownEffect tag. There is info on it here:

You should be able to do something like:

<mx:WipeDown id="wipeOut" duration="10"/>
<mx:WipeDown id="wipeIn" duration="10"/>

        <mx:Tree text=""
            hideEffect="{wipeOut}" showEffect="{wipeIn}"/>

Hope that helps,

Add an event listener for itemopening  and use prevent default to stop animation...then dispatch new  itemopening event with animate parm=false....
