Give a NTFS group the ability to update Excel files but not delete data in the files once it has been entered.

I need to share out a folder on Windows 2008 SBS that will contain some 2003 Excel spreed sheets.

I need to give a  user group the ability to update Excel files but not delete the data once it has been entered into the file.

I need  to give another user group the ability to change anything, this I know how to do.

I can not figure out how to give a user group the ability to add data into a file but not delete the data once it has been entered into the file?

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Honestly, I'm not sure how you're going to do this, but I know your not going to do this with NTFS.  NTFS is file system access - it has no idea what you're doing to the file - it just knows that data has changed - no idea if it was deleted, added, altered, whatever...

There may be some things you can do with Excel... there are things you could do with Access or a database system... but not with NTFS.

I would suggest you open another question in an Excel zone for how to do this with Excel since NTFS is not an option.
