Printing Issues with Citrix XenApp 5

We're having daily issues with citrix printers disappearing for users.  We're using XenApp5, the latest citrix client 11.2, and a 3rd party software called RenPrinters.   RenPrinters is a service for Windows Server that renames printers installed by Terminal Service clients so they're more user friendly.   We used to use ThinPrint on Presentation svr 4.0 and didn't have these issues.  Any help is much appreciated.

Today was bad again, but it was isolated to the Office servers.  I'm rebooting them tonight.  The other application servers created the printers fine.  New citrix client works OK - no issues - but did not resolve the disappearing printers issue.   Tomorrow should be interesting.  We'll see if the issue is just isolated to the MS office servers.

I am not familiar with that software.  Is it certified for XA5?  What does it rename printers to?  Using the Citrix Universal Print Driver gives names that are way more friendly than prior versions.

We have it set to list the printer as  "HP 4250 from username".   The type says  "Citrix Universal Print Driver" - auto created client printer.   So it is using Citrix Universal Print driver - this program just renames and includes the username.  I'm not sure it's the problem.

Have you seen the thousands of hits regarding this issue on citrix's site? I applied hrp5 to my 4.5 farm and bam! I have the same darn issue. I've tried deleting drivers, checking the registry, reinstalling drivers on the client side, reinstalling the client, just about everything I can think of. I've been battling it since I put it on the farm. it's random and makes no sense. I'll post if I find something. just wanted to let u know you're not alone.

We did.  I was hoping to possibly reach a different target audience who might have an idea how to resolve.  Thanks though.  I'll keep monitoring the citrix site.

The issue seems to be abated for now.  Unfortunately we did a couple things and not sure which, if either, resolved it.   I extended the refresh on the RenPrinters to 60 seconds due to the number of remote printers being created.   We also rebooted all the servers due to an upgrade for our TrendMicro.  No one's complained about their printers this week.   I did update my citrix client to v.12 and have not had any issues.   However, all the users are still on v.11.2 so it wasn't the client that fixed the issue.
Will monitor it next week and then hopefully close the question.    Thanks.
