XmlAttribute tag in C# - "Appending /"

Hi Guys,
I'm trying to attach a simple xmlattribute to xmlelement with the following code:

 XmlElement acct_name = xdoc.CreateElement("ACCT_NAME");
 XmlAttribute att = xdoc.CreateAttribute("value");
 att.InnerText = "GBSID";
 acct_name.Attributes.Append(att);

In the output though it has "\"
<ACCT_NAME value=\"GBSID\" />

Can someone pls advise why this is occuring?

Thanks,
Nick

Are you sure you get this escaped quotes in output file? Or you see em in debug?
