How to Convert a word file into Excel

Hi,

We need to convert a word file into excel with the same format, is there any way to do so ?

Change ths extension to .xls from .txt , u will see that.

No, you need to copy the data excel and re-align the things if needed. Renaming will not work all the times. The standard way is copying only.

If you are talking about a table, you can copy it and paste it into a spreadsheet. The character formatting (font, bold colour, etc) will also be copied.

Actually we have a word document containing 26 pages with combination of text and tables with some specific formating now what we need to do is to convert the same document in Excel 2007 file with the same format in the word file, I have tried the options suggested above but no luck.. the format is totally going out is there any way to keep the same format intact in the Excel file ?

You also can try with openoffice.org
They are also support MS office. Download it, it free and try to convert from MS office word to openoffice calc (excel). And save as xp format.  May be little bit you need to modify.

Thanks Imran, I have converted the file using open office it is not exactly with the same format but we can manage to make it same again :)
