Flash Projector with Proxy Server

I have a Flash Projector which runs on a desktop machine, and needs to contact a web server to check certain information, and supply info, using 'LoadVars'.

The projector works well, apart from when there is a proxy server blocking port 80.

Does anyone know a way to specify proxy server settings when using 'LoadVars'? I've searched a fair amount, but can't find anything relevant or useful.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I don't believe it's possible to specify the proxy server with ActionScript...

Unfortunately, I can't 'accept as solution' the non-solution - but it was helpful! thanks.

We're going to take a different approach - and have suggested a few to our client.

Thanks 'CyanBlue',

Well...  Sometimes 'no you cannot do that' or 'no that's not possible' can be an answer to a question, and I believe this is one of those case where you have to accept the fact it is the answer to your question...  Don't you agree???  ;)
