Cannot Edit Script task in SSIS package

Microsoft SQL Server.NET Programming

I have several SSIS packages created using Visual studio 2005 running against SQL server 2005 - i have had no problems editing any of the packages until I installed Visual studio 2008 and Sqlserver 2008.
I still have both 2005 version on the same pc as they are required for previous applications
I can edit both 2005 and 2008 projects but when i try to edit any SSIS package created in 2005 I am unable to open the script tasks to edit.
I require both versions so removing either versionis not an option at the moment.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
