SC Command to stop and start service

I need to stop and start a service on a remote vista computer from my xp computer.

They are both on the domain and I am using an account that is in the administrators group on both computers.

When I run this " c:\>sc \\computername stop mcafeeframework " from the XP computer command prompt
to the vista computer, I get this error.

[SC] OpenService FAILED 5:

Access is denied.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

The only way I can get this to work is to change the settings on the client.
Access Protection > Unelected "Prevent McAfee service from being stopped" with this selected you can then use your CMD. This can also be done in the ePolicy server for that specific machine. Maybe there is a way to turn off that setting off remotely but I doubt it since it would be a security risk.

To turn off this setting you will need to with the VirusScan Console on your PC and the administrator password. You should be able to Remote Console (Tools > Open Remote Console) into the remote PC and make the appropriate changes.
