Cannot install Business Contact Manager 2003 on Windows 7 64 bit Laptop

I was able to install Office 2003 Small Business Edition on a Windows 7 64bit Laptop. But when I tried installing BCM, a dialog box pops up saying that it is not compatible with WIndows 7.

How can I install BCM 2003 on a Windows 7 64bit Laptop ?

Hi mattibutt,

I ran it in XP SP3 compatibility mode but the install did not complete. It hangs. I waited at least 10 minutes for install to complete.

I am restarting the Laptop right now and will try again in XP SP2 compatibility mode.

any suggestions ?

if your laptop is 64 bits then sometime you can not use 32 bits application on that check this factor as well whether software is compatiable with 32 bits

Hi mattibutt

I got BCM 2003 installed on a Windows 7 64 bit Laptop.

I am going to award you the points - I think installing in Compatibility Mode helped.

Here is what I did:

I installed Microsoft Office 2003 SBE BCM - Business Contact Manager Update CD in XP SP2 Compatibility Mode - This installed even though Incompatability error popped up
Rebooted Laptop

I then installed Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition Service Pack 3 in XP SP2 Compatibility Mode and typed in manually an instance MSSMLBIZ
Rebooted Laptop

I then installed "Service Pack 4 for Outkook 2003 with Business Contact Manager Update and Small Business Accounting" in XP SP2 Compatibility Mode
Rebooted Laptop

I then opened Outlook 2003 and BCM 2003 wizard opened. I then imported the BCM data successfully.

This worked.
