Issue is not able to discover MSA2312sa on operations manager 2007.  Using SNMP, and have imported management pack

Have also configured SNMP in MSA to point towards management server.

Did you update the firmware?

According to HP documentation, firmware M110R28 "Added a function to allow SNMP test traps to be sent (CLI)" and "Enhanced the SNMP community string to support strings that contain dash and underscore characters" and "Improved the SNMP Notification page in internationalized systems that uses non-ASCI characters"

Did you add the MSA as a network device?

Haven't done ether, update the firmware or ad it as a network device, will look into both. We do now have it sending SNMP information via NNMI but we would really rather get it monitored via SCOM.  How would we add the device as a network device?

Have you insured  that there isn't a simple hardware problem?  Do you get pretty lights on the ethernet port and can do a port scan and see anything corresponding to the MAC address?   You need to get to the point where it is either a hardware problem on the MSA, a data transmission/FIREWALL/transport issue (emphasis on firewall!); or a SNMP configuration problem.

Definately not a hardware issue, we have it sending SNMP traps to our HP network node manager so pure SNMP is working.  Also we have used a tool callled SNMP Walker to also prove the SNMP is working.  We have reinstalled the Management Pack into operations manager now twice now to verify that this was done correctly as well.  MSA is working and is configured as it should be, we do have it configured to send traps to our SCOM server as well.   We are using SCOM 2007, SP1

much appreciated, thanks :)

So then, we (you've) established that because SNMP walker sees the storage (as well as HP NNM) then the MSA is fine.  I concur.  This is then an implementation issue of Ops Mgr.  I suggest changing the zoning and subject title.  This is not a server hardware problem so you would have better luck in another group.
