SSG5 - commands

Hi all,

New to netscreen OS - while playing around I entered a couple extra dhcp commands and locket myself out of the box, am currentl;y consoled in and here are some of the entries in dhcp I want to remove :

set interface bgroup0 dhcp server option lease 1440000
set interface bgroup0 dhcp server option gateway 10.20.6.1
set interface bgroup0 dhcp server option netmask 255.255.255.0
set interface bgroup1 dhcp server option lease 1440000
set interface bgroup1 dhcp server option gateway 10.20.6.1 <---------remove
set interface bgroup1 dhcp server option netmask 255.255.255.0
set interface bgroup0 dhcp server ip 10.20.6.101 to 10.20.6.201
set interface bgroup1 dhcp server ip 10.25.16.101 to 10.25.16.254
clear interface bgroup1 dhcp server ip 10.20.6.101 to 10.20.6.201 <--------- remove

unset interface bgroup1 dhcp server option gateway 10.20.6.1

this should work. also if you type the first few words of a command then hit the 'tab' key, a list of viable variables to complete the next part of the command will be listed.

so for example type unset interface bgroup0 dhcp, then press  'tab'

unset - just found it thanks. I've been using "clear" for the past half hour, new to screenos .

I thought this was the reason I can't access my firewall via the WEB UI but still can't any ideas ?

I can't ping the gateway 10.20.6.1
set admin manager-ip <lan-ip> 255.255.255.0

this will allow any pc on the LAN to connect to the juniper for management. next you need to enable Webui for the LAN, which should be enabled by default, but just incase it was removed try

set interface <interface you will connect from> manage web
I can't ping the gateway 10.20.6.1

if this is your LAN gateway, and traffic does indeed pass through it to the internet or VPn tunnel. then you probably have Ping turned off for this interface. the command is simillar to the one for enable web management

set interface <gateway interface> manage ping

Found out the problem was that my internet address changed between yesterday and today so i didn't have the "set admin manager-ip" assigned to it yet. All I did this morning was change the dhcp local on the firewall s oreally had nothing to do with it.
Thanks for your help with the commands.
not a problem, glad to be assistance either way.
