How To Get Selected Value Of ComboBox (C#) 500pts

I need a way to get the selectedvalue of the comboBox item before it's actually selected. I think a better way to ask this would be to say I want to "highlighted" item value of the moused over item in the combobox prior to physically clicking it to select it.

I was able to accomplish this using an owner drawn combobox but it was sloppy and I didn't like it. How else can this be accomplished?

Do you want to capture what they are hovering over back to server side(in your code behind)?
I think he's talking about the winform control. I'm curious to see the answer to this :)

Yes it's a winform control. So say I have 5 items in the combobox:

When I hover my mouse over say "3", and i get the highlight over that item... I essentially want to grab that variable without physically clicking the item, just by hovering over it (or highlighting it). Let me know if that is not clear.
