Webserver on Hyper-V time out after a while

We have a Hyper-V host machine with several virtual guests. There are 2 debian webservers and a windows 2008 webserver. The problem we have is that after a period of inactivity the websites on the webservers somehow time out. In the browser we receive "page could not be displayed". When we press F5 after this error, the webpage is displayed and everything works fine. At first we thought it was a problem in Debian, but now it also happens with the Windows server. Can someone help us?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Are you able to reproduce this error every time after a period of inactivity, or does it happen randomly?

Are there any relavent event log entries on either the host, or the windows guest machine?

I would think its network related - can you ping the host server when this problem occurs?  Can you also ping the guest OS?
